A PERFECT DAY

March 18, 2008

It seems like a perfect day. It starts with Mass at 8 and will end with the Rosary wirh a group of neighbors in our cimmunity room. It is the usually Tuesday activity. But, being Hply Week I feel I needed this connection with the Catholics in our community more than most times.

Not all the Catholics attend the Tuesday night 6 PM Council Sponsored event, but more often than not, I do. In truth, I am inspired by the faithfulness of these elderly women. I am the only man in the group.

I look forward with Tuesdays with the girls. It makes most Tuesdays – perfect days!

SATURDAY AFTERNOON

March 15, 2008

I am a passionate 76ers fan.  Over the last few weeks they have played with heart. Last night’s game was a prime example. Down by 16 in the fourth quarter, this never say die group of hussters – snatched a victory.

It is Saturday afternoon and I am looking forward to another hard fought battle with the Spurs; the defending NBA Champions from San Antonio, Texas. tonight  The game will be played in Philadelphia.

I AM EXCITED

March 15, 2008

I am looking forward to hearing about my sister and her family’s trip to Rome.  I pray the pilgrimage is time of grace and mamy blessings for all involvrd  I am sure the Mass at St. Peter’s on Holy Saturday will be a highlight of this special trip.

Love you all and my prayers are with you!

A BEAUTIFUL DAY

March 14, 2008

It is a beautiful day. I am glad the Democrats are triping all over themselvese. The pro-abortion party might be kept in check. Neither of the Democratic candidates for President would get my vote. I am Catholic and I believe in the sanctity of  all life!

The fact is as Bishop Sheen oftwn stated “We are all cracked pots.” I believe in redemptive suffering. This is a big reason why I am willing to offer the time I spend in my wheelchair for the conversion of others.

I pray no auffering is wasted and that is used for the glory of God! Die with Christ this Holy week that we may more fully celebrate the Resurrection!

A SPECIAL TIME

March 12, 2008

This is a special time.  It is of renewed enthusiasm. Once again, I am writing to a few individuals on a regular basis  It is forcing me to keep the corospondence going. The two young people have kept me on my toes. For I no sooner get a letter out, then get one back from them.

I am not complaining. I know I am touching them and they have touch me. This is a special time and we need to be connected with people of faith. Drop someone a line today or make phone call. We are one Body in Christ and we can’t stand alone!

THE VISIT WAS SHORT BUT SWEET

March 2, 2008

I am sure Alecia is touching many lives. Our brief converaation convinced me she was having an impact on those of whom she was working. I am proud of her.

Though I wasn’t expecting to go to a kids birthday, I was pleased that I went. Rngaged in stimulating conversation with a lawyer who works for the insueance industry I found her work facinating, Erin made the evening special. Like Alecia’s visit, the time speaking with Erin was much too short.

Another bemefit of going to the birthday party was seeimg someone who had made a difference the few years of Mom’s life: Chris, her hairstylist. This woman came to do Mom’s hair as well as my own in our home. Chrissy’s efforts were deeply appreciated.  She was living the Beatitudes.  As spoke with her briefly a flood of memories rushed by.

See, something short and sweet can create a spirit of thanksgiving. Thank you Mike, Alecia, Joe, Erin and Chrussy you made Saturday, March 1, 2008 special!
